Tech-Uites await a fun-filled year like never

Tech-Uites await a fun-filled year like never

After many years of moans and groans from Tech-Uites about an uninteresting atmosphere in the institution, the Nigeria premier technical varsity is set to witness an unanticipated turn of events come next session. All work and no play that is making Tech-U a lacklustre school lacking excitements shall be a matter to be consigned to oblivion when the underlisted events take place.

1. Students’ Union: The University has decided that it’s time Tech-U stood with its colleague institutions shoulder-to-shoulder by establishing a students’ self-government organization that will be to the management a contender of decisions and a conduit to relaying all students’ voices with one voice. This is also aimed at introducing in an amusing ambience to the campus where politics shall be played among the students.

The Dean of Students Affairs has reportedly made vows at making efforts to ensuring Students’ Union possible in the first weeks of the coming semester. He assures the process shall be democratic where anyone can contest for any office or canvass supports for anyone and for any post. If this comes to pass, Tech-U will be shutting down the claim that it’s an advanced secondary school most often yawned by students themselves.

2. NUGA: First Technical University is expected to join the league of many other schools in the forthcoming Nigeria University Games Association’s exhibition. NUGA has been the body that formulates, coordinates and regulates university-level sports events in the nation ever since it was founded in 1966 at the University of Ibadan.

The next chapter of the multi-sports fiesta being hosted by the University of Lagos is slated to hold between 16th to 27th of March, 2022. About 10,000 student-athletes and officials from 136 Universities are expected to grace the 26th edition of the carnival to compete in 17 different games including football, Badminton, taekwondo, Chess, tennis among others at Akoka, Lagos.

3. Convocation: Tech-U shall be graduating students in what is hoped to be a grand ceremony after the completion of a 4-years filled with dramas, comedies, ups and downs. The institution shall be releasing students who have undergone a system of learning where theories were blended with practices to the world labour market.

If not for anything, the pioneer graduands shall be remembered for standing still in the face of dissuading storms of the adolescent school. Fire is the test of gold. For them it was adversity. Their path to success was not linear. It was always a curve. And having successfully driven well at the curves, the management has included Convocation in the to-do lists of institutions next session, a rather bizarre decision to make considering the population of the finalists.

The commencement is slated to hold somewhere in March. The next session is going to be fun!
